iBolivar Medical Center’s Swing Bed Unit is a 12 bed Medicare certified skilled nursing facility located within the hospital licensed by the Mississippi State Department of Health and accredited by Joint Commission. The Swing Bed Unit specializes in caring for persons in need of special skilled nursing care and rehabilitation by trained therapists. A coordinated, multi-disciplinary program is provided to help each patient meet his/her highest level of physical, mental, and psycho-social functioning.
Persons needing the services of a skilled nursing facility are often experiencing many changes which require a period of adjustment for both the resident, and the family. This can be a stressful time and the staff is well trained to provide the support, encouragement, and assistance that are needed.
Residents/families are encouraged to help by asking questions, expressing concerns, and discussing any problems with the appropriate staff member. The staff provides the patient with personalized care that offers the opportunity for the resident to learn skills needed to manage his/her health after discharge. The care is provided without regard to race, age, creed, color, sex, religion, national origin, or source of payment.
We offer the following services, and more, to patients in our swing bed program:
